You've proven altogether competent, thus far. Jovavich and Lynch are candidates in the upcoming elections, yes? It sounds like Jovavich's plans are collapsing, and Lynch has far more connections.
[ she doesn't know what terraforming and satellites are, but she can gather that they failed, and that according to the call with lynch, jovavich had otherwise been the shoe-in. ]
You're right. Jovavich seems to be more concerned with her scientific explorations than her political aspirations. That's not surprising to me, considering how she's failed to manage her campaign well. Keep in mind that she has a manager, but she doesn't care much about what she hears. She put together a plan to smooth things over, only it was foolhardy at best.
Lynch's connections are a surprise, however. I feel like we're missing a piece there.
I see. Well, I am working on the campaign of the frontrunner for the New Amsterdam governor position. ... I'll admit, she's been seeing a lot of setbacks lately, so I don't know how long that characterization will remain.
But otherwise, we've experienced other setbacks. Disappearances, you see? Our current group is less politically motivated than those who have been here before.
I doubt that they do, but just the same, I've been here for some time now. I haven't made my aspirations a secret. If I leave tomorrow, however, it could be evidence.
... But, truthfully, all signs point to it being random. It's not as if only the politically inclined were swept away.
I don't believe she cares terribly much. She's very singleminded. Hardly the inspirational politician, but I suspect that her rise in potential power was ... poorly vetted, to say the least.
That or she doesn't like to take lessons from those who know better.

Not Johann Grey?
[ too tidy, probably, but it is tempting, given how the name appears in so many other of these missives. ]

Perhaps we'd be able to glean more if anyone had bothered to ingratiate themselves with the leadership.

We want answers, but as far as I can tell, few if any have gone to where the power is.

Is that something you can do in your world? Simply ingratiate yourself with political figures? How small is the place you come from?

Otherwise, I'd be gone already, and you'd have never come.

We'll just have to see how long you last if Jovavich wins her election.

Do you have access to Jovavich? I wonder what she would make of her opponent's chatter.

It speaks volumes either way.

Do you really believe better of Lynch or Durcell?
